The Columbus Organization
Columbus is the country's leading provider of case management, support coordination, and behavior support providing services to over 10,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities nationwide. Established in 1984, our founding mission has been to make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and be committed to redefining case management in a way that best serves the citizens of South Carolina with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through our support and caring service, the individuals and families we support have more choice, personal power, and control of their lives. We believe individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities should be valued and given the same opportunities as all citizens of the Palmetto State. Our experienced case managers demonstrate this belief by listening, using People First language and LifeCourse approaches, encouraging self-advocacy, and supporting individuals to maintain and realize meaningful relationships, both at home and in the community.

We believe the success of collaborative case management depends on the relationships and communication between all agencies sharing services. We will demonstrate this belief by being responsive, supportive, dependable, and professional.

South Carolina case management provides these services statewide to individuals being served through various waivers including Intellectual and Related Disabilities (ID/RD) waiver, Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI) waiver, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder waiver which includes Autism or Asperger's Syndrome.

Columbus provides all these services throughout the state of South Carolina and provides 24/7 support for those we currently serve.
